Wednesday 17 November

17:00-18:00: Maija Laukkanen Lecture [Remote]

  • Maija’s lecture will focus on female entrepreneurship in technical industries. Maija will share her entrepreneurial journey, creating Clinipower Finland Oy, offer advice to entrepreneurs getting started, and conclude with a Q&A session. 
  •  Maija Laukkanen is a health tech expert and CEO & Founder of Clinipower Finland Oy. Clinipower offers expertise and advice in International Medical Technology and Healthcare IT business and management. Maija has years of experience in the industry, team building, B2B sales, management, product and solution marketing, and developing new commercial processes in complicated, regulated environments.

19:00-23:00: Dinner & Sauna

  • Dinner and sauna networking event for like-minded students. This event provides an opportunity to meet other entrepreneurially minded students in a relaxed setting, build teams, and relax before the next day of events.

Thursday 18 November

10:00-11:00: Jamie Hyneman Lecture

  • Jamie will give a lecture titled “Peeling the onion: How to Start Prototyping.” This event is targeted for all LUT/LAB students, especially technical students who are interested in starting prototyping or already have a prototype. 
  • Jamie Hyneman is a jack of all trades. He is well known for his work in the popular TV series Mythbusters and is the CEO of M5 Industries, his own personal prototyping shop. He is involved in the special effects industry, motorsports, and prototyping.

11:15-12:30 Joonas Kylliäinen Workshop

  • This workshop is geared for anyone interested in entrepreneurship and wanting to know how to get started. Joonas will share his entrepreneurial story and lead students through a series of topics with discussions aimed towards skill building, getting started on your own entrepreneurial journey, overcoming challenges, and taking action NOW in the Nordics.
  • Joonas is here to fight the big fights and on a mission to have a healthy, intimate and financially independent family that helps others reach the same. He’s a family man first, marketing and weed-being entrepreneur second, a wannabe athlete third.

12:45-14:00 Patrik Holopainen

  • This workshop is designed for students who love ‘doing’ and is targeted for technology students who are skeptical of ‘hype’ entrepreneurship events. Participants will walk away with something tangible, learn about the power of well-run accelerators, and how to utilize their technical skills to build a business.
  • Patrik is the CEO of Kiuas, the leading accelerator program in Europe.

14:00-13:00 Jamie Hyneman Workshop

  •  This workshop is for students who already have a prototype in mind or in progress to bring it to the JHC and get feedback on the prototype from Jamie himself.
